cartoons

so today was a great day, i hope it pioneers classes for years i just loved the cartoons it helped me so much how besides just reading the words and hearing them looking at the pictures helped me connect them all together like that whole your baby can read stuff how you hear see and have an example of whats going on i think that its a smart way to learn if your a baby or if your just furthering your education in classes

we had to take more notes today but we got to talk about all sorts of cool facts that i had no clue about like how Harriet Tubman barley saved a fraction of the slaves i find his crazy how were told so much on how so many slaves escaped the hands their slave owners but in fact it was only around 1% thats so small i always thought it was going to be like 20% or something but who would have thunk only 1%, the things you learn in history class

fredrick douglass

today we discussed the life of fredrick douglass. he was a black slave who had manny trying points in his life such as constant trading of owners and abuse from the owners. there was nothing more that fredrick douglass wanted was to be free he wanted to be like the ships in the bay being able to come and go at they please. in the end fredrick douglass escapes by just waling away one day and making his way up to the north.

today we learned about a factories layout and how many machines there were and how many there could be. this shoed us the basics of factories and ho the processing was back then. i personally found it kind of lame but thats fin you cant love all classes and i just want to learn something new

yesterday in class we went over the dividing line of the south and north. we learned that the north became more advanced than the south with the advancement of mills and factories. we  didn't learn what living conditions of the different area but we did learn about how young women from the south were sent to the north to sent back money for the family or even to pay for the education of a brother.

okay so today was good we finished our script and although my pictures didn't work today i went home and solved it it took a little bit of thinking but i got it I HOPE ahahah i checked on my dads computer and they all came up and i could work with them so i hope all is well tomorrow

the best day ever

the quest today was fine it took the whole period and we didn't get to work on our project so not such is going on the whole project is coming along good and tonight is going to be the best its the harry potter midnight premier and im absolutely pumped so ill see you all tomorrow

well really no class today or yesterday because of the whole assembly and what not plus no time in todays schedule for it so really not much to report back on but tomorrows quest and tomorrow is the harry potter midnight premiere and im so exited cause im going

today we went back over the war of 1812. im feeling pretty confident for tomorrows quest or what everyone is calling them now the teiz  ahahah or something like that it was so goofy i forgot. im not so confident on the project though i just never understand whats going on in them till the end

today we discussed a lot we went over the XYZ thing at that was cool i really like those names and we went over the party system and how the elections were affected by them also we learned about the duel between hamilton and burr it was pretty cool burr one and hamilton died EPIC!!!!!!

today in class we talked about the packet that we had got on the washington's speech it was vary long and went in depth on every thing, i think it was ridiculous like we did not need that entire packet to get only a few points across i could have dropped that packet down to an easy one page front and back with the things they were trying to say.

again i just have to blog in the mornings cause of my computer. on the topic of yesterdays class of helping the french in there revolution i would say that its easy to say yes we should cause that the right thing to do but in that time we really couldn't we were speed to thin and having problems of our own in america so i would say its better we didn't help them even if we wanted to

so far iv herd that senate has grown by two seats and im not sure of anything else cause my parents are telling me two different things and im really un clear on the voting thing. i cant wait to understand the actual truth of the nights work tomorrow

i didn't have access to a computer yesterday so im posting this morning. yesterday in class we talked about the party system. the system is broken down into a single party and if that party is even able to be responsible and is even able to get into power. he told us how we could be one party but we wouldn't have any power because we are such a small proportion.

i just posted on niceness and im really worried that it might not have worked but im pretty due it did so okay. but i have to say that class today was smooch fun i loved it everyone was so involved and participating plus people were having a ton of fun that website Icivics.org is like the greatest help ever on studying and review. overall todays class was a bunch of fun and a good learning experience on how its always good to try new things even if you think they would be lame like i civics because it might surprise you and turn out to be a lot of fun

are you a federalist or an antifederalist

i have to say when we were going over the notes in class i was like ya ya  ya when do i ever need this but then i started making connections and relating to the people back then and i released that i would be an antifederalist. it just makes more scenes that people had just won a war that separated themselves from a strong central government and then people start pushing the idea of a new government closer to what they had and you know i just wouldn't like it. it just seems redundant and a way for the greedy to try and take command closely to what the royal families were in England so i feel that we should start to think of new way to conduct our nation and use Mr Boyles classes idea of the feature of technology to become the feature of government were we can quickly adapt and change and have a faster say to vote as a nation than town hall voting.

today we talked about the powers and restrictions the three forms of government has. its always helpful to have school house rock go over it we also whent on i civics.org and thats a lot of fun  to actually see the ways the legislative branch does to go through a court hearing i was mad when we didn't get to see the finals answer but the question was a loaded one that could have gone any ways i guess it doesn't matter

todaywe talked more about the project we are working on and it cleared things up even moor its great to understand all the things surrounding me and it was soooooooo!!!!! helpful to have mr boyle show us how to embed the voice thread on our blog its good to know that i can have a back up if one way fails.

im only a bill

i love that song so much its great plussss all the cool french kids were there and we got to make some flow charts i found that it really helps me if i don't just sit and listened but rather take notes and also participate in good class room discussions. also today i cleared up some problems that i had with the project we got  i now know how easy it is so i cant wait.

today we finished going over the road to the constitution and it was good i new what i was talking about and thank goodness i actually am good at the next thing were doing the preamble a piece of cake we did this in fit grad and im so ready

10-12-10

today we took notes in class and we went over the documents that we did our google documents on. and all i have to say is that i love google docs it is so fun and a wicked good way to have a group discussion thats easy to follow and produce a great combination of everyones point of view.

test day

well today there was the test and i was freaking out but i feel like vie done okay. but what i really exited about was the arsonist in byfield i know he got caught but i have quite the story to tell about it. so me and a few other kids from the cross country team had  just left for a run when all the sirens stated going off we were running the governors loop so we took off for g.d.a and we were stopped a little past the bridge were everyone jumps off so we asked the police what was going on and they told us about the arsonist that we all assumed was caught after that message we all heard from the office, well let me tell you it was crazy the police were telling us not to move how it wasn't safe to go back to school or to keep on our run and we were about 1/4 of a mile from where the polio caught him for real. and when we finally got back to triton it was empty no one was there and to our surprise all of the sports had been shut down and evacuated it was a crazy day i loved it i wish there was always this much adrenaline in all my days ahahahhaa.

new google docs

i was so exited when i got the google docs project, and i know last time i used it i ate it but now im going to try and better understand the google docs idea. plus i felt so nice when i had a good idea among so many smart people, no matter how simple it was. it was just to have people go around and right their emails and what group you are so we can hold you responsible for it but still i felt so smart ahahahahahah

i was unsure about this test we were given and i'm still a little bit but nothing some studying wont fix all i really need to do is review the declaration and to finish going over the list of terms that we were given. i hope that i do better than i did on that quiz cause i don't even know what i got and i'm already thinking i did  bad

the 4th of october

today was good it was just like what we did after we learned about the battles of the north. it was good that we did both north and south in different parts because that would have seemed a little overwhelming but i feel like we all are going to do well on this test cause we've gone over the information and i review at home when i can.

today was so nice we cleared so many things up. and after we spent like 30 min of mr boil fighting with drew about the importance of looking on the like 200th page of a google search being important we talked about the revolution and how the wars actually went down it was a good day in good old c period history

i have to say i didn't do as good as i would have liked to but you know you cant win them all and i feel next time we do one of those i will be a lot stronger so i hope to learn from my mistakes and do better next time

well in class we had a kind of skit it was fun all but my second line ahahahah it was bad i was freaking out cause everyone was just saying if they vote yes or no then this girl who started reading a line was told that thats not what she was suppose to say and then i had a line so i just said i vote yes but really i had an entire line that says i vote no and it was just wicked funny and i didn't know what to do

i don't know if anyone else had fun but i had a blast like it was so funny like the most random people we like just yelling things out it didn't even matter if they were wrong my personal favorite was elise because she was so into it and i alone with kayla had the perfect view to just watch her flex her debate muscles ahahah it was a great day

so more notes today but it wasn't bad at all we worked in groups and it was easy to follow. im nervous for this debate/ argument im not sure what it really is but i think it will be fine we have a strong group and we all know what were talking about

well today was just a good day in general i had gotten my permit only hours earlier and nothing was bringing me down i was so happy notes seemed like nothing plus i really liked the format of the google earth note session really nice

the man who road through mass at night

were saved by the bravery of the nigh riders 

a rest they took for one hour to tend the horses soar and bleeding 

to concord they road warning the towns of the oncoming british 

with two lights in the tower they were coming by sea 

they picked up t third member of the ride 

a Dr. Prescott made the duo a trio and of they road 

but being stopped before lexington all with different results 

Prescott was free to go, Dawes was thrown by his horse 

he limped to lexington and Reveres ride was over 

he stood in his place before 10 british soldiers 

they had done there job the message was out 

they finished the journey and the fighting had begun

to me the act that was the tipping point that started the war was the boston massacer. i think this because without the massacer the colonist wouldnt have been as fired up as they were when they were just being taxed but now that blood was spilt... it was on!! 

event summary

Royal proclamation : the proclamation the king passed in the 1700s. this proclamation was made to stop the colonists movement west of the appalachians. the english colonies didn’t care and continued to expand west. 

The stamp act : the british needed money to pay off debt so they raised taxes and and put taxes on many more items. the colonist didn’t like this “who would” so they stopped buying the goods from the british 

Boston massacre : the british were really annoying the british so the colonists protested.  in 1768 the protesters through snowballs at british officials when the british got angry they fired back and killed (well i herd 11 in this group but then 5 from another so im not really sure how many ahaha) .

Boston tea party : angry bostonians went aboard a british trading ship this boat contained british tea the men through the tea into the harbor all of the men were never caught because they dressed up as native americans.

intolerable acts : when parlement herd about the tea party they were wicked mad and cracked down on rules . they even shut down boston harbor the same harbor used in the boston tea party. then paul revere took off to go get people to fight cause very one knew something was going down. 

First continental congress : was like a group therapy session in which they talked about the influence of the british parliment on the british colonies. they also dealt with the affects of the intolerable act.  this was were ideas of independence were tossed around 

I though the project was kinda unsuccessful . only because we spend so much time learning about our event that didnt get as much out of the other events as we did ours. also people talk really fast can we pleas slow it down next time that would make it like that much better   

the 13th

today was good a nice easy day of typing and reading i really think this is going to be a cool project and i hope we do moor of these voice recordings. i feel like my group was strong but i cant wait to see how goofy i sound on the recording ahaha

my third blog post

hey everyone it was another great day of class only today we didn't use andy new technology but rather a classic power point production. also i found out we don't have assigned seats sooooo that was some good news. but otherwise today was a regular day of class and learning so see ya on monday bloggers

today in history was actually nice. Mr Boyle cleared up a lot on both project now that i know what to do i can finish both of them. i really like the google docs thing but i feel like it would have been easier just to have us open a word document the other day. I hope that these blogs become ore exiting and interactive with other students. well that this past week in c period history in a nutshell.

3 goals for 2010

my three goals for this year are to

1. participate in or see a flash dance 
2. run an absolutely great cross country race 
3. get my report card and know that its the absolute best i can do

i'am going to work hard for my 2nd and 3rd goal and for my first i need to either be in the right spot at the right time or figure out a way to get my own going. i'm feeling god about this year so i hope it all works out
